    If anyone needs advice from a rising senior in wharton and the college (finance and polisci for those wondering), feel free to shoot me a message. Got some free time between internship and start of school lol.

    Probably better to ask me about Penn itself rather than applying to Penn though, it's been awhile since high school :/.

    Applying to The College most probably. There is a possibility that my school has been blacklisted, in which case I'll be applying to Brown. Just need to clear it off with my principal.

    Why would your school have been blacklisted by Penn, but not by Brown? Did the principal personally insult Penn President Amy Gutmann? Or Admissions Dean Eric Furda? :rolleyes:

    ^there's not much point submitting the application before nov 1st. Just make sure everything is set to go in october, and just like submit it on Oct. 31st to be safe?

    Another UPenn ED here! :D

    @45Percenter,

    That's naive of you to assume. A student in my school received around 10 points below her predicted grade in the IB after she got into Penn. Since her, no one in my school has gotten into Penn although reps from Penn have visited us. Which is why I'm unsure.

    I wasn't being naive--I was being facetious. ;)

    I kinda doubt that the Penn Admissions Office would blacklist an entire school based on one student's performance, especially if it's her performance on the IB--as opposed to her performance at Penn--if I'm understanding you correctly.

    It's a good idea to check with the appropriate officals at your school, but I'd also contact the appropriate Regional Admissions Officer in the Penn Admissions Office about this, if I were you:

    Penn Admissions: Regional Admissions Officers

    Blacklisting an entire high school for the reason you cite sounds to me more like the kind of urban legend that circulates among nervous high schoolers, than reality.

    But again, do the appropriate research. :)

    @Brookie17
    How did you arrive at this conclusion?
