Chancellor's Scholarship Essay

For the first essay for the Chancellor's scholarship (the "personal essay"), the optional one I sent in with my regular college application would fit the topic. Can I just use this one, or will that be seen as like, laziness or disinterest. Is it the same people reading both the college application and the scholarship application? Thanks for any help!
