On Campus Housing

My daughter was accepted to USF starting in the fall. We are from NY and she will be living on campus. Does anyone know how students are matched with a roommate? Will a freshman be placed with an upperclassman? Thanks in advance.

I do not necessarily know how they match people, but I do know that a freshman will not be placed with an upperclassman (as far as I know). You are also asked to fill out a mini survey stating your preferences, like if you smoke, if you prefer the room cooler, if you enjoy staying up late, etc. They try to pair you up with a student with the same preferences, and it has worked out just fine for me.
