Does Questbridge Finalist help?

KaiLunKaiLun Registered User Posts: 317 Junior Member
So I was just wondering that if I was a Questbridge Finalist and applied through Questbridge to USC but not matched, will the fact that I was a finalist help boosts my application a lot? Or does it not really effect it at all? I've just been Waitlisted for UCLA, so I'm REALLY begging for USC's kindness :(

UW GPA: 3.94 W GPA: 4.29
ACT: superscore: 31; individually, I got a 30 and a 29

Link Crew (leadership)
School Site Council (student government)
NJROTC Honor Guard, Color Guard, Drill Team, Physical Fitness Team (Recognition in all of them)
Three clubs (VP of one of them)
Varsity Tennis
Unpaid Accounting/data analysis internship
300+ volunteer hours at local hospital
250 hours for a summer program for the city

AP scholar
President's Volunteer Service award
Company commander of NJROTC
Questbridge Finalist

Thank you so much!! I know admissions come out in just a couple of days, but being Waitlisted to UCLA has really freaked me out about my chances at USC :(

I am in the same position as you!! I was a Questbridge Finalist, but didn't get matched. I was also waitlisted for UCLA as well. I really do hope that being a Questbridge Finalist will help us since the Admissions Office had the chance to look over our application more than once for sure...

same here, but I'm really doubting myself since I still have financial documents required even though I sent them. (probably didn't bother notifying me since I wasn't accepted :l

I applied to QuestBridge and was not selected as a finalist. However, I was admitted to USC in late January. It all depends on your overall application - and your essay. But the philosophy I've come up is that the kid makes the school and not just the other way around.

Good luck to all of you!
