Yes, unless you're an international student, in which case you'd be exempt.

this is who is required to take the test:
" All majors in the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences require foreign language study. Majors in the professional schools that require foreign language study are:

    Cinematic Arts (B.A. only)
    Communication
    Engineering (Computer Science only)
    Fine Arts (B.A. only)
    Journalism
Medicine (Health Promotion and Disease Prevention)
Music (B.A. and B.M. degrees in Organ, String Instrument and Vocal Arts; B.A. degree in Humanities in Music; B.S. degree in Music Recording only)
    Occupational Therapy
    Public Policy and Management
    Theatre (B.A. degree only)"

this is weird. the link in the above post says "A student who scores 4 or 5 on AP Spanish Language or Spanish Literature, German, French, Chinese, or Russian exams should take the on-campus placement exam administered by the Testing Bureau. After having taken the exam, meet with the language Program Director."

but when I went thru that part of the orientation homework last month it said that if you scored a 4 or 5 then the foreign language req had been fulfilled! what the heck

No language is required if you are a business major.
