What is Part 1 Application?

What is this? Is this kind of like a ED/EA to let them know that you are really interested in attending USC?

There is no ED/EA at USC. Part 1 helps admissions get a general idea of who is applying. It saves you money to do part 1 and it gets your file started. It does not affect your admission decision one way or the other.

I know there's no ED/EA, but I was wondering if doing Part 1 will give you an advantage like doing an ED/EA does because it shows the school that you're interested in going.

Part 1, I believe, saves you $5 on the general application. Part 1 was $10 and it gives you $15 off your part 2 application.

basically just do part 1 if you want to save $15
