If you like the friendships built in Greek life but can't see yourself going Greek, join a club sport.

If you're religious, there are many groups on campus including InterVarsity Christian, Campus Crusade, Canterbury, a USC Catholic group, etc. Some of these groups schedule fun activities such as game nights or "field trips," in addition to holding Bible studies and worship services.

There are many other kinds of groups, I just mention the above as my daughter enjoyed them. During the first week of school there will be a big welcome fair and the groups will have tables so you can walk around and collect info on whatever interests you.

the names of some featured singing groups are...:
SoCal Vocals, The Sirens (all female), Troy Tones, Trojan Men (all male group), Reverse Osmosis,
some are obviously more selective than others, but they all have auditions in the fall, and some in the spring.
i'm not part of a singing group, but i know a few people who are, and they love it. give it a shot if you want to see what it's like.

The aforementioned groups by kkgirl are a cappella groups, and they sound awesome! I went to a some of their free concerts last year (mostly outside of VKC, but I also went to one at the Ground Zero cafe). I had a floormate last year who joined concert choir. So yeah, there are definitely opportunities to flex your singing talent if you want to.
