Are you out of state or instate? Number of AP's doesn't matter it depends on what your school offers. Some schools students take 18 AP's in high school, some schools the average is 3. UVA looks at what is offered and did you take the hardest curriculum you could and do well. If you took 7 AP's and are in the top 5% then it sounds like your school does not offer many. UVA also wants to see that you took all 5 core classes each year(they include language as a core). If you did that and are in the top 5% then you probably have a chance although only 2/3 of students come from out of state and many out of state students apply so acceptance is not that high. Good Luck.

UVa is unpredictable and, in the end, much depends on where you are in the state. They are serious about in-state diversity AND if you're in NVa, you face stiff competition from the top high schools there.

You should be looking at the info UVa provides. The 75th percentile SATscores (the point CC recommends kids compare themselves against, as an info bullet,) add to about 1500. And the rest of it is a lot more competitive than just looking at your own gpa, rank, and some ECs. It's not filling time, it's the value in your choices. You have some work to do, to assess yourself.

Sorry, I missed that you were in state. You should definitely apply but where you are located in Virginia can make a difference but if you are in the top 5% of your class then it sounds like your school doesn't offer a lot of AP tests. I know many NOVA schools offer a lot of AP's. They also look that you took all core classes all 4 years to include language. Good luck.

You have a very good chance I would say. The only thing you might want to work on is SAT, but otherwise you seem very well-rounded.
