Do you pay In-State tuition after a year?

As far as I know, one becomes a resident of Virginia after 6 months. Does this mean that if I attend UVa, I will pay an in-state tuition after 6 months? I doubt it, but it'd be great if someone can answer!

Thank you in advance.
