Does your GPA transfer to UW from another college? Or is it only used for admissions purposes? In other words, does your GPA reset once you transfer to UW?

fmjakhilles - It is the latter. Your UW GPA will be 0.00. Your transfer GPA will be used for admissions and determination of what credit hours will transfer to the UW. Good luck, I'm trying to transfer in as well? No news from the admissions office. My app was submitted on 12/23/10.

some departments will also look at your cum. gpa (including the transfer grade) when looking at your acceptance to the dept. Other departments will only look at your UW gpa, and others will look at just your uw classes in that particular major.

I'm double majoring, one is looking at the cum. overall including transfer another is looking at just uw classes in that degree

HOWEVER, if you're not asking about it counting to get accepted into your major..yes your UW GPA will be separate (your unofficial transcript on my uw will show your transfer class grades though)
