I am a freshman direct business student attending uw next year. Because I am in pre calculus right now and will not have ap credit, I have to take a placement test. Should I take the regular test or advanced test?

You need to take the advanced test to place into calculus (Math 124).

Are you planning on taking business calc? If so, you don't have to take the advanced test. Opt for the general one instead. Business calc is Math 111. However, if you plan on taking Math 124+, take the advanced placement test.

    UW Advising - Mathematics

" The MATH 111, 112 sequence is accepted by UW programs that require only one quarter of calculus, including business, the economics B.A., and microbiology."

    UW Advising - Placement Tests

"You should take the General Math Placement Test (MPT-G) or Intermediate Math Placement Test (MPT-I) if you had less than 3 or 4 years of high school math, through algebra-trig or the 2nd year of high school algebra. The highest you can place with this test is precalculus (MATH 111 or 120)."

For those of you who have previously taken the math placement test:

Is the math placement test paper or computer-based? If computer-based, do the questions need to be completed in order, and can test takers go back and modify answers to previous questions?

    Thanks.

Math 112 is really easy and didn't help me in the long-run, imo. I got a 3.7 and I don't know anyone in my cohort who did as well, but still I wish I'd not wasted my time with it
