How can you be so sure? I mean my SAT CR isn't that great.

Disregard the previous commenters, they don't know what they are talking about.

It is my understanding (I could be wrong) that the average SAT score for Intl. students is significantly higher than that for US students. I believe UW's average was 1830 (for all students), making your SAT score somewhat low (in my estimation) compared to other Intl. students. This is all conjecture, but most of the Intl. students I know (granted these stats are from like 7 intl. students) got 2000+ on their SAT, with near perfect scores on the M and W, but with lower CR scores.

One question I have is how do your grades compare to your peers and what do you think your grades would convert to on a 4.0 scale? For US students, UW really focuses on your GPA, so it might be the most important aspect of your application. That said, UW probably gives more weight to the SAT for Intl. students since they won't be familiar with the grading environment of your school.

    Your ECs look pretty good.

Overall it is hard to assess your chances because I don't understand what your GPA looks like on a 4.0 scale, but I think you have a fair chance of getting in.

In response to @juanitaRebel Actually International profile is lower or same based on my research and couple of my friends who are in UCs had score less than their average admitted score the reason being that funding is being cut for UW and most of the public universities .international students pay thrice the fee than an instate student.

Your point was valid for couple of years ago when the influx of students from India was high and financial problems were less

@Christophernolan I am aware of the financial implications involving international admissions, however, I am still pretty confident that the international profile is higher than the domestic one. Obviously the admissions committee will allow more leeway when it comes to CR, but when it comes to M and W, the numbers are typically higher from what I've seen and heard. Additionally, I know some people within the admissions dept. (not people on the admission committee mind you, but people who would have intimate knowledge of the topic), and upon reading your response I directly asked this question, they unequivocally stated that international students have it harder when it comes to metrics.
When you are refer to research on the subject, are you talking about something similar to what I was basing my original comments on (informally just taking note of SAT scores of Intl. students you know) or is it based on published admission statistics? If it is based on published admission statistics, then it will include students from countries outside of the traditional intl. sphere (India, China, Japan, etc), this too severely deflating the averages. Secondly, you cannot necessarily extrapolate research from one university and apply it to another, even though I am sure there are some definite admissions trends between public universities.
I understand the logic behind your comment, but I find it a tenuous assertion provided the comments from people in the admissions dept.

Your point may be correct.my research is based on personal experiences and online help.the point made by you was valid few years ago but now it has changed due to the reason above.Other thing is having more int students increases the college ranking marginally

Hey there @sr1995 ! Even I'm from India. Our scores are scarily similar. My superstore is 1930 and well I've ot ECs like sports captain, lead guitarist , etc. We'll just have to see what happens. But from whati think is UW puts more emphasis on your personal statement. I know competition is intense but if you have a particularly good essay, you never know what may happen. All the best fellow countryman
