Should I consider the UW Honors program?

I like UW a lot. However with 33ACT and 3.96 GPA I think I might be a statistical fit for the honors program. The problem is I am not sure I am an intellectual fit for it.

I am a very sciency/mathy person. I will be taking minimal humanities courses in college. My goal is to get into the CS department and then proceed to take as many CS electives as possible.

If being a part of the UW Honors program would get in away of that passion and that goal then I would rather not go for it.

I can't really tell what the UW Honors program stands for or how it would make my UW experience any different.

I do like the apparent emphasis on research and student discussions.

If I apply and then get accepted can I then refuse to be a UW Honors student?
