You’ll be fine. All these people getting all worked up saying UW doesn’t care about backstory etc, they don’t know anything . I’m on the Young Executives of Color through the Foster School of Business and we have admissions come to us all the time giving us workshops on how to apply to UW and UW’s approach to admissions. They do a very holistic approach. They accepted a student who had below a 3.0 because of his backstory and how he worded that in his essay. Don’t let these people freak you out, I know from first hand experience based on the college admission officials who speak to us.

    UW gpa: 3.576
    ACT: 31
    ACT writing: 10
EC: Played tennis for school (4 years) and interned at Concur Industries

    - 7 AP classes (Calc AB, BC, Lang, Comp sci, comp sci principles, Environmental Science, APush)
    -several honors classes.

Good essay about growth through adversary(elaborated on upward trend in grades)

I'm currently in the #1 ranked high school in Washington if that makes any difference. Signed up for general admission.

UW is my dream school. Any insight on my chances here, good or bad, would be a great weight off my shoulders.

Out of state makes it virtually impossible to get direct admit to bioengineering. You will have to apply to the program at the end of freshman year.

Out of state merit scholarship info here

@c0ll3g3g1rl Depends on your UW GPA, but I'd say you have a good shot assuming your UW isn't below a 3.5
