I realized later that the major I really want is within the college of life sciences. I'm not sure I'm going to UW yet, but I want to know if it's possible (and how difficult the process would be) to change to the college of life sciences. Thanks!

Really can switch to any major. Only impacts your advisor. many programs require later app after a year or two in college.

Easy switch- you were admitted to the university as a whole. Reason to pick a college/school/major now is for assignment of your SOAR advisor.
