I realize some of you might be more interested in other aspects of Vanderbilt, but a few factors permeate the Vanderbilt experience like no academic peer, these include football, SEC life, academic and social balance, etc...

Vanderbilt is going to a bowl game for the since time 1982. This means that we won enough games for this to happen (6) and it is the equivalent of a "postseason appearance". We're also playing the other SEC school in this state (Tennessee) this week and are favored by the Vegas sportsbooks for only the third time since 1975. If we win this game, we will have a winning record against SEC teams for only the second time since we co-founded the conference in 1933 (1935 being the last). This was back in the era when schools like Vanderbilt and the Ivies dominated football.

Just a heads up: either that or the prospect of tailgating in that atmosphere should definitely excite you.
