Vassar music supplement

I've read that in general, a non-music major shouldn't send a performance video unless it is conservatory-quality -- the assumption being that Admissions sends the video to the music performance faculty and asks "would you take this student?," the faculty votes with a performance-program lens, and a "no" from the music faculty will hurt you.

I'm wondering whether that advice holds for Vassar. Any insight? My kiddo's videos will show his musicality, his enthusiasm, his hard work and mastery of advanced (not virtuosic) pieces -- but we don't actually know where he would fall on a performance-program scale.

Do we need to nail this down for Vassar? His application will reflect that he anticipates continuing to make music in college (with a possible minor) and loves the many ways that music is integrated into student life. He's proud of his achievements and would like to send videos -- but obviously won't do so if (possibly) falling short of conservatory-level would hurt him.

Thanks in advance for any insight!
