NPD and my portfolio

i already prepared most of the pieces that i'm bringing to the NPD in november. what do schools there usually look for preferrably SVA, Pratt and Syracuse? my major is graphic design and i'm a transferee from a comm college. Honestly, i can't produce great pencil drawings and such. Do they want to see more on still lifes, oil paintings even though i'm applying for a graphic design major??

i've tried my best to include a lot of traditional art in my portfolio, but i know it can't be comparable to those who are taking up fine arts or illustration. would that lessen my chances?
