Chance Me? :) RD

WashU has been a school I've loved for a VERY long time. However, as a resident of STL, I felt that I would not be expanding my horizons and at the last minute ended up switching my ED to Northwestern, and was rejected :(. I've expressed SO much interest in WashU through their summer scholars program the past two years in a row, interviewing, etc. A family friend also is good friends with Mark Wrighton, and says that he mentioned me to him. Based on this and my stats, what are my chances at WashU RD?

GPA UW: 3.85
Rank: School does not
ACT: 31 C (33 E 30 M 35 R 25 S); superscored is the same

EC's: independent study course where i volunteered with hospice care patients and continue to do, Thespian 4 years (secretary, VP, President), Model UN 4 years (secretary then president), members of various other clubs

Awards: President's honor roll every year, St. Lawrence University Book Award, National Honors Thespian

Ethnicity: Caucasian
Religion: Jewish
(I would pay in full for tuition)

THANK YOU! Any feedback is much appreciated :).

Also, I go to a small, well known college prep school. We do not have many APs, but I'm taking the two (Spanish Lang and calc AB) that are offered this year. All classes are honors. Thanks!

Hmm your standardized test scores, name your ACT hurt, most likely the reason for rejection from NU. Have you taken Sat subject tests? That might help. Your ECs aren't incredible aside from a president position. I would try elaborating on your ECs in your essays to help. Good luck!

From what you posted, acceptance at any top school seems doubtful.

I also don't see how a well known college prep school only has a couple of AP's.

Considering you were rejected from Northwestern, I wouldn't say you have the best chances at Wash U. If you were deferred, it might be a different story. Your demonstrated interest will be the only thing to help you, but since the RD pool contains tons of students who were deferred from their first choice Ivy Leagues and other top 10 schools, you might not make the cut. ED would have given you better chances, but I admire your desire leave your comfort zone.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. I'm aware it is a reach, just wanted to hear some thoughts from a stranger's perspective. I've got quite a few fall backs. Thanks!
