Hello excited about WashU. Had an interview two weeks ago with a great interviewer in the DC area.

WashU parent of a current freshman here. Good luck RD applicants! If you have any questions, I’ll try my best to answer them.

Hello! I’m applying RD to WashU Engineering. Can someone send me the essay prompts for Danforth? My counselor nominated me but because I was waiting on my ED and EA schools, I haven’t submitted my WashU app, so I don’t have the Danforth essay prompts and I know that app is due soon. I’m getting scared because I haven’t started it. :-S Hopefully I can just recycle essays I’ve already written.

Hey! I'm applying regular decision to the school of arts and sciences. May I ask, how is competition among prospective philosophy majors?

Heads up for RD applicants who may have an interview through APAP. The Boston session has been cancelled due to the winter storms. I’m not sure if other interview sessions on the East Coast have been cancelled as well.

Congrats, everyone! Hopefully by now you have submitted all the essays you wanted to send in. It’s waiting period now, so sit back, relax, and enjoy senior year!

Hey guys! So I was unaware that if we wanted to request an interview we had to submit our application before December 8th, which I didn't. Do you think there is any point in me trying to request one now?

My son submitted after that date as well and requested an interview. He has not heard back yet, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

I was volunteering at an APAP interview event last Saturday and there are always last minute cancellations and no shows. It wouldn’t hurt to show up to one to see if there are enough alumni interviewers who can squeeze you into a spot.

We had a last minute candidate who said he signed up for an interview, but did not get a confirmation and he still got an interview. So there is still a chance as long as you are polite and explain your situation.

@mickey46 @stardustmom go ahead and try to attend an APAP interview event in your area if they haven’t been held yet. You can PM me with your city/state of residence and I’ll check dates.

IIRC the last interviews will be held the last weekend of January although the Boston session for 1/6 was cancelled due to the recent storms.

@Hamurtle Thanks for the tip. We know there is one coming up in our area. We had not thought about just showing up, so we will definitely consider that.

@stardustmom I would definitely show up to the APAP interview session. At this stage there will be cancellations if kids got in to a school ED so it’s likely that your son would get an interview.

The APAP coordinator/local chair running the event will have extra blank interview forms for such a contingency. Also make sure your son knows his WashU application number as well.

Does anyone know around when scholarship results are released and how (email, call, portal)?
  • HamurtleHamurtle Registered User Posts: 1,085 Senior Member
Scholarship results are released by phone call first IIRC. The same information will appear on your online portal as well.
