GPA/ACT are in range and you are applying ED1 so chances are good. Roughly 1/3 of ED1 candidates are accepted and you seem like a strong candidate for Political Science. Asian applying for non-STEM should have good chances.

I assume your AP scores are good, although you didn’t list them.

5 will get you credit for the Introductory USH class at WashU. Very useful if you want to do a major/minor in History.

The 5 in US Government may allow you to waive an undergraduate class contingent in getting a passing grade in an upper division PoliSci class.

Try to get a 5 on your AP Literature test. You will get retroactive credit if you pass the required writing class with a C or better.

It looks like my crystal ball/tea leaves were right on. Congratulations on the ED1 acceptance.

A lot of PoliSci majors will take classes in the History department and since my son’s other major is History, I am somewhat familiar with the course offerings. There are a bunch of classes crosslisted between History and PoliSci.

A couple of interesting history classes that Political Science majors take are History of the Gulf War and History of the Global War on Terrorism.

My son took the first one last semester and said the majority of the students were PoliSci majors. He’s enrolled in the latter class this coming semester.

If it’s offered, another interesting class that History and PoliSci majors take is a writing intensive class on the modern military history of Africa (with an emphasis on the conflicts in Rwanda and Congo). Lots of discussions on the warlords and the battles to control natural resources.

If you are considering a History minor (or another major in History), the 5 in APUSH will be good enough for you to take an upper division History class. The WashU undergraduate history advisor told my son to take an upper division History class for juniors instead of an Introductory History class when he was a freshman, since he got 5s in APUSH and Euro.
