This is kind of a silly question, so, it's understandable if this answer seems equally silly. But, if random NYTimes wedding announcements are any indication, Wesleyan has about three hetero-normative couples to every gay wedding announcement whereas a random sampling of Vassar-related articles has only one wedding announcement and it happens to be for a gay couple:

Ha, good luck with that. Gays and straights have one thing in common: Nobody dates; what you have, instead, is one endless round of flirtation, crushes, ACB posting (that's, the Anonymous Confession Board), and the occasional hook-up followed by weeks of awkwardness. And, I would say, that's true of virtually every American LAC.

haha well hook ups, flings, orgies and date drugs'll have to do then. But in all seriousness, what's the Wesleyan gay scene like? Is it small but vocal, or big and in-your-face? (Excuse the innuendo)

IMHO, there's a gay-friendly, sex-positive megaphone that magnifies the presence and influence of actual gay people beyond their number. I don't think anyone who is LGBTQ or just questioning will feel out of place at Wesleyan. That being said, I think there probably is a slightly larger "dating pool" at Wesleyan compared to other colleges in NESCAC (except for Tufts - which isn't really a LAC) simply because it is slightly larger and probably less jock oriented than some of the others (but, _some_ lesbians may appreciate the presence of a strong women's varsity teams.)
