Hello all

I'm a newly accepted junior transfer to wesleyan. I would like to know more of the career resource center of wesleyan, like its scale, facilitation, opportuniteis, help/advicing offered to individuals and most importantly, the alumni network. I mean besides all i can read from the brochure and web publicity, I appreciate to hear more of your genuine opinions, given that any of you are career-oriented upon graduation...is it trendy more weskids going to grad schools instead?

to be specific, I'm thinking of double majoring in econ and math, and prolly studio art (hightly doubt if it's doable at all in two years though). So, plz throw in your opinions :)

I have to make my final decision by 6/2, and I gotta choose between Umich and Wesleyan...I know they are utterley different..god knows i would apply for both of them then. Personally right now I'm more for wesleyan
so plz convince me!

I'm not sure I can be of much help, as I've only stopped by the CRC a few times to talk to the pre-med advisor (yes I have medicine in mind)... but I do know that within 5 years of graduation, 80% of Wes grads wind up at grad school.

    has the scoop.

I've heard the CRC is pretty helpful. Perhaps others have personal experience?

Besides having lots of internship opportunities (and plenty of binders full of students talking about their internship experiences and providing contacts), the coolest thing I've found them to offer is WEScan, which is a directory of alumni in various fields we have access to. This is *not* supposed to be used to ask for jobs, but is great for just networking and finding out more about a particular industry. They've been more than helpful to me, and it's easy to make appointments with them for one-on-one advice. If you put the time and effort into going to the CRC (which a lot of students seem not to until their senior year...), they'll give you a LOT back.
