General Comments:
Interested Major : Industrial/Mechanical Engineering

Universities applying to:
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
Virginia Tech
Texas A&M University
Ohio State University
North Carolina State University
University of Florida
Purdue University (West Lafayette)
Michigan State University [None]
Pennsylvania State University (Penn State University)
Iowa State University

Suggest me some universities that are good for engineering and I can get in with my scores as well. Also would applying undecided increase my chances at any of these universities?

Should I apply for Industrial or Mechanical Engineering in order to have a batter shot. I know it hardly makes a difference. But still. Thank you for your time.

If you are applying next year. Take the SAT I again. And SAT IIs depend on the university you are applying to!
Also, I am assuming you are at the top of your class( top 10%) and have high grades!!

University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign - High Match to Low Reach
    Virginia Tech - High Match
Texas A&M University - High Match to Low Reach
    Ohio State University - Match
North Carolina State University - Low Match
    University of Florida - Match
Purdue University (West Lafayette) - High Match
    Michigan State University - Dunno
Pennsylvania State University (Penn State University) - Match
Iowa State University - Low Match

Then all your chances become tougher by a notch! Haha, don't take ^^ this seriously. No one knows what happens behind those doors (well not most people - some experienced people do). So, just do your best in the time remaining at school - up your academics & ECs and you can maybe aim higher!! You have time on your side!! :)

And I think undecided decreases your chances by 0.01 %. Basically, it doesn't matter much unless that specific school in the college is better reputed than the college itself (eg. Engineering in UIUC)!! So just go with what you want to do in college!!

    Well, that sucks :(
I will be glad if I get into any of these :)
MSU is my Low Match - Safety :P

Don't worry - If history is to believed, every college student gets into at least 50% of his targeted matches!! ( But I don't know if my ^^prediction is accurate!! :P )

And since you are willing to pay full tution - tryout some of the lower ranked UC's such as Davis, Irvine. And research on certain up & coming schools such as Drexel University, which may not be up there today - but is taking huge strides!! :D

P.S. A guy from our school got into UCLA with a 1910 SAT and so-so high school grades (top 15%), so you never know!! :)

I thought of Drexel, but it isn't that famous for engineering yet. I wanted to try out for UCs but all their deadlines have passed :(
I am just hoping I will get somewhere :D
Because staying in India will be terrible.

Gotta focus on SAT1, critical reading especially. I'm sure there's more you can do to prepare, work on vocab, practice tests, etc. Otherwise it all looks good

I know, I messed up that part of the rest real bad. I wish I could improve it, but I don't really have time. What do you think will be my chances?

I actually think you can get into all your schools. The best matches are MSU, PSU, ISU, and VTech..

36/42 would yield a ~3.4 UW GPA and 3.9 weighted.

University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign: High match
Virginia Tech: Match (VA Tech works with weighted GPAs and the 1600 scale)
Texas A&M University: High match (lowish rank hurts you)
    Ohio State University: Match
North Carolina State University: Low match
    University of Florida: High match
    Purdue University: Match
    Michigan State University: Safety
    Penn State University: Match
    Iowa State University: Safety

    Thank you for chancing me.
Since I have taken the IB Diploma Program, do they take it into consideration?
I would want to know if it would increase my chances anywhere.
