I am an Indian Male, I live in Washington State, and go to a private 5-12 school that is top 50 nationally.

My Stats:
- 36 ACT (36, 36, 34, 36) 8/12 Essay
- 800 Math 2 and 780 Physics SAT 2s
- GPA, measured out of 100 is 94 UW (This is what colleges will see). Out of 4.0, it is a 3.90. I have a fair amount of Bs, No class rank, but I would assume top 10 - 15 % out of a 74 person class. Top GPA in my class is 97/100
- At time of applying, I will have only 3 APs (my school has lots of AP restrictions, so this is not bad). I am taking 4 more my senior year, which is the most rigorous course load available to me. I have a mix of 5s and 4s

My ExtraCurricular Activites:
- Yearbook for all four years, Editor-In-Chief senior year
- Longest-running social justice club at my school for all four years, President senior year
- Aeronautics club for two years, President senior year
- Student Ambassador Program for all four years, Program leader junior and senior years
- This year, I helped design a Yearbook / Graphic Design club for the middle schoolers of my school, President senior year
- I had an Internship with the 2nd largest nationally circulated English newspaper in India over this past Summer. I am continuing to work as an overseas writer during my Senior year.
- 100+ hour Internship with Congresswoman from my District, phonebanking canvassing and the like
- I've played squash competitively since age 7, compete in Gold tournaments across the country, not recruitment material
- 6-year member of my city's youth council, we negotiate projects related to sustainability and homelessness and implement them in our city.
- 100+ volunteer hours at the same Children's club over two years.

Recs: Will be good to great, but not Spectacular

Essay: CommonApp is almost finished. It is about how I used to live in India for 3 years and will tie into my main extracurriculars. (this is an oversimplification btw)

Applying for Communications at Penn, English / Econ at Princeton

You are not even in the top 10%. Your stats are quite low for a private prep school Asian applicant. No spike. You will thank me for my honesty later but please focus on other schools. You have close to 0% chance for any school in the WSJ/THE top 15 list. Think of this logically, if you can get into UPenn/Princeton, your school would have at least 10 students admitted to schools at this level. What is the past records of your school?
Aeronautics club for two years, President senior year

AOs can instantly identify your intended major as fake. Have your thought about that?

    @nrtlax33

Look at all my other ECs besides just one that corroborates that I want to go into a stem field, because I dont. I took Math 2 and Physics because I am bad at the literature test and am not passionate about history. Just because I am GOOD at Math and Physics doesn't mean I want to major in it. My passion is for WRITING, and the SAT 2 literature test does not give me an opportunity to show that, so I decided not to take it. Plus, math 2 looks good for Econ. I am definitely top 10-15 percent in my class, idk how you would know what my rank is when I didn't give you any information to decide I'm not top 10%. Top GPA is 97, one student has 96, and around 3 have 95, so I would be around 6-8/74. No one has a 4.0 at my school, nor has anyone had one since I came to this school. Plus, my school doesn't even send rank, and my school is so competitive and small that rank means almost nothing here. Past records of my school are very good for ivies, around 20 people went to t30s last year out of a class of 67, a bunch were ivies like Penn, Dartmouth, and Brown. My stats are low? 3.9, 36 ACT, and 800 and 780 are low now I guess, huh, who would've known. I made this thread because I want criticism, but If you're gonna criticize me, please criticize me on stuff that makes sense.

Are they Asians? You are competing with other Asians.

This is no good. Someone I know who were admitted to UPenn last year has a "manuscript" submitted as a supplement. You need to show that you are good at your intended major. I am not criticizing you. I am giving you another perspective.

lol you def have a good shot at these Schools, your stats are very good and go beyond the threshold, your ACT is obviously amazing and GPA as well so idk what the other dude is saying lmao. you have good leadership positions and if you have a strong essay and are applying ED at penn I think you have a decent shot. you definitely don't have a 0% shot. good luck!
