Home state? Intended major? ACT/SAT scores?

There isn't enough information here for anyone to give you advice.

OP you posted the exact same thing in March for California schools. You can treat Purdue/UIUC/Rutgers the same as the answers you got for UCSB.
Based on that, @momofsenior1, her home state is probably California, major is public health, SAT is 1380.

Hi, sorry. I took the SAT again in June and I ended up getting a 1430. My intended Major is Public Health and I am from California.

I thought that these schools were not as selective as UCSB though

@stressedhskid87 You are correct, for Public Health, UIUC, Rutgers, and Purdue are not as selective as UCSB.

Based on your stats, you are close to the top 25% for Applied Health at UIUC and Purdue, and in the higher part of mid 50% for Rutgers. So UIUC and Purdue are low targets, and Rutgers is a target. However, you are OOS for all of them

So, is that what would make it harder to get in?

No, in fact at Rutgers it will make you more desirable to admissions. OOS will make it more expensive that UCSB.
