Here are my stats! I just got rejected from Cornell :( Was a little bit surprised since I do have a "quirky" activities list and was asked for an "informational meeting" less than twenty-four hours after submitting my app on Nov 1 (and it went on for over an hour and a half! but i guess my supplemental wasn't strong enough since i threw it together last minute basically) Congratulations to everybody who got in your ED schools either tonight or the past few days! Everybody here is proud of you.

Are you from Indiana? Are you thinking of Purdue as your safety? From what I have heard it is a very good choice. Your guidance counselor would know much better than I what your chances are there.

I think of Reed as being quite different from some of your other schools, including Cornell and Purdue.

For what it is worth I was also rejected by Cornell (but for graduate school) many years ago. I went to my second choice and loved it.

    Most concerned about your comment:

"This year has been awful, I've been unstable and depressed."

Have you shared this with a medical professional ? If not, consider doing so.

Based on your shared stats & info., you should be accepted to several of your targeted schools. But you need to be healthy & happy in order to make the most of any opportunity.

OP: Based on your interests, Rice University in Houston, Texas might be of interest to you.

I think you have a very good shot at being admitted to Purdue and UMD. That said, what is your safety? (A true safety - financial and 70%+ acceptance rate)

For anyone else reading this thread for the future - speed of scheduling an alumni meeting at Cornell, or the duration of said meeting, means nothing in terms of likelihood of acceptance. Alumni meetings are non evaluative and the speed in getting a meeting just means your regional chair was on the ball with scheduling.
