Hi! I'm very interested in William and Mary and UVA, but I am out of state so I'm not sure how competitive it would be. Here are my stats

GPA: 94.8 unweighted est. (took several AP and colleges classes but school doesn't use weighted)
SAT: 1450 est.
SAT math II: 770 est.
SAT spanish reading: 750 est.
*I went to a specialized magnet school so many classes were health science related
*my essay also talks about health science

1. Physical Therapist Volunteer (Junior)
2. Biology related Internship (Senior)
3. HOSA- Future Health Professions (Researched persuasive writing and speaking, public service announcement, etc) (Freshman-Senior)
4. SkillsUSA (First Aid/CPR) (Sophomore-Senior)
5. American Red Cross Club (Sophomore-Senior)
6. Math League (Sophomore-Senior)
7. National Honor Society (Junior-Senior)
8. Spanish National Honor Society (Junior-Senior)
9. Volunteer at library (Freshman-Senior)
10. Future Business Leaders of America (healthcare administration) (Junior-Senior)
11. Part time Job (Junior-Senior)

I would want to go on the pre-dental or pre-med track and major in biology

You have very good stats , but it is not a slam dunk you will getting, do you need money to attend the schools? You could ED to one or the other and that would help your chances but you may have a very large bill. What is your instate flagship, med school or dental school is very pricey.

My flagship university in New Jersey is Rutgers New Brunswick-- but I am not interested in Rutgers for undergrad because I could not picture myself on campus. If I stayed in NJ I would choose TCNJ as my undergrad

As a dentist who went to UVA undergrad and has a daughter there now, I would say you have a better chance at W&M than UVA unless you get your SAT score over 1500. OOS acceptance at UVA this year was 15% overall and probably under 10% for RD.

@ericcollege - does money figure into this < UVA is very expensive, TCNJ has very good stats getting into med school for their kids, I think RU would be better bc they have a hospital as part of their school.

@NJdad07090 I really like TCNJ, I think I could picture myself more there than Rutgers. Rutgers is way too spread out for me. TCNJ performs really well academically and it's a nice size.
