I feel like I have very low stats compared to most of you guys posting your own, but here goes.

9th grade:
jazz choir (competitive singing group and class.. very hard to get into) = A/A
Honors English 9 = A/A+
Spanish 2= A+/A+
Honors Geometry = A/A-
P.E. 9 = A/A
Freshman Integrated Science (stupid mandatory class) A+/A+
World Cultures and History = A+/A+
Communications I (w/ computers, web design, etc) = A-/A-

10th grade:
jazz choir = A/A
Honors English 10 = A+/A+
Honors Trig. = A/A-
Advanced Honors Alg. II = B/C+ (AHHHHHH!)
Honors Chem = A/A
Adv. Env. Science = A+/A+
Modern Euro. Hist= A/A+
Gym = A/A
Latin I = A+/A

11th grade:
jazz choir = A/A
Comm. 2 (i get college credit for this- at least at the state level) = A-/A-
Hon. Bio = A+/A+
AP English Language and Comp = A/A; 4 on exam
Honors Precalc = B+/B (AHHHHHHHHHH!)
Health 11= A+
AP US History = A+/A+; 4 on exam
Latin II= A-/A
Speech and Debate= A
Journalism = A

12th grade: (predicted)
jazz choir = A/A
AP Calc = A to A- (notoriously simple in my school)
AP English Lit= A to A+
AP Biology = A (notoriously simple, as well)
Hon. Physics = A+ (haha easy again, everyone this year in the class got an A)
World Between the Wars = A easily
Science and Law = A+ (a joke)
Trial Techniques = A+ (more of a joke)
Latin III (at Oberlin College- its not offered at my school) = no idea, but I'll work hard and hopefully get an A

*I'm taking all the APs my school has to offer except for AP Stats and AP Span/French obviously!

PSAT= semi finalist national merit (forget my scores haha)
SAT= wayyy too low! 2020 (660 CR, 670 math, 690 writ)... when I retake this i should get at least a 700 in CR and at least 730 in writ, and prolly only 680ish in math again...
just pretend it reaches 2100
ACT= 30 (might not submit)

SAT II predicted scores (taking Sat):
Lit = 740
Math lvl 1= 700ish
USH= 670 (i'll be modest.. i'm scared for this one though)

There are no rankings; idk where I am in regards to my class (top 5% though)

I'm white and jewish btw and live in CT

oh yes, EC's:

Varsity Tennis (#1 singles, #1 doubles) team captain Junior/Senior year
I've been skiing for 10 years and race competitively
Student Gov't = Fresh/Soph Secretary and Junior VP... LOST FOR SENIOR YEAR NO!! lol its ok though i'm over it
Jazz Choir and singing/ sang in NCCC chorus 2 years
piano for 6 years/ guitar for 2 if any of that even matters.. w/e
VP of SADD (students against destructive decisions)
Elected into SSS (peer support group... 4 kids in entire school elected..no campaigns or anything here)
Volunteered at Mercy Medical Center (~30 hours)
Started sock drive for the homeless in town.. very successful
President of JSA chapter
Drama Club = 4 years

worked in Brown's env. labs summer before soph year for 10 days
took 2 UCLA courses this past summer (college credit) - microbiology and fundamentals of theater- I got the highest grades in both classes (both A+s)
this summer I'll be working at Shaw's

My dad went to Brown undergrad and Cornell med with his fellowship at UCLA and residency at Harvard.. I'll have a letter of rec. from the dean of a school at UCLA

ok, so I have about 0 confidence I'll get in anywhere decent with my low SAT scores and horrible math grades.. what do you think my HONEST chances are at:
U. Southern California
UCONN = easy safety
UMichigan- Ann Arbor

Be honest please! and thanks a lot! :)

    USC-slight reach
    URochester- don't know enough
    Vanderbilt-slight reach
    Emory-slight reach
    Have you considered UVa?
    The reason why many of these schools are reaches is because of your SAT and all these notoriously easy programs. Is your high school highly competitive?

    smart.cookie, i should clarify- im calling those classes notoriously easy, but they're the real deal AP classes... it's just I know I won't have a problem getting A's in them. like ap bio and ap calc are obviously not a real joke, but imo its not too difficult here.. doesnt matter though, colleges see the class, they don't sit it for a year to judge its difficulty (most students get 3's or 4's on ap exams though)

    and ya, i know my SAT isn't too great but oh well.
    I'm more worried about my math grades

    btw, why do you think BU is a reach compared to UCLA or USC? I'm out of state, so I def suspect UCLA to be harder, though I do have some connections and what not there

    What you have going for you with respect to the math grades is the fact that they show improvement over the years. If you do pull an A in AP Calc, colleges will be very pleased. AB Calc, or BC. An A in BC would be especially impressive. Also note that all AP classes are not created equal. It really depends on how reputable your HS is.

    it's only AB calc- my school doesn't offer BC.

    to be honest, its not that my high schools not competitive, its that kids here just don't apply to the top schools. and i realize not all AP classes are equal, but its not like i'll be taking a computer science one my senior year- i think i'm taking rly serious ones- AP Bio, AP Eng Lit, AP Calc

    UCLA and UMich are pretty comparable, and your stats match pretty well, and with the letter of rec from the dean at UCLA I think you are a match. As for BU being more of a reach that USC or UCLA, that's my error. I was thinking Boston College (in which case I would say it would be more of a reach simply because of the smaller size).
