Take a look at Whitman College, a great LAC. I consider it a hidden gem because it's a wonderful school that doesn't get enough recognition on CC. Here are some of its attributes: rigorous academics; gorgeous campus; lots of music/art/theater opportunities; strong sciences; a very active outdoor program; and a warm inclusive environment. These are its Princeton Review 2013 rankings compiled from surveys completed by students at the top few hundred colleges and universities in the US:
