Could I get into Wellesley

Wellesley is my top choice school, but I'm not planning on applying to any coed schools in general. My grades weren't so great my freshman and sophomore years and my junior year I am currently doing online school and getting much better grades mostly A's, but B's in math and science classes. I am going to a University in Shanghai and studying Chinese and I hold a part time job teaching English. I haven't taken the SAT yet, but anticipate an above average score, especially in the reading writing area. Will I have a huge issue getting into Wellesley because of the mistakes I made my first two years in high school?

Hi! I'm glad to hear Wellesley is a top school for you. I'm attending in the fall and I love everything I've read and heard about it!

I'm not sure what you mean by your grades being "not so great" but I know that GPA is only one portion of the application. Hopefully you've been building up your extracurricular and community service resume (especially with leadership positions). If you haven't, try to do that this year as well as finish with strong grades (if your grades weren't good across the board, at least try to show a strong upward trajectory). In regards to SAT scores, you'll need around a 2100+ (2100 is about the average score according to https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-university-search/wellesley-college).

Most importantly, display your desire and passion to attend Wellesley in your Why Wellesley essay. That's the one place you can really show how much you want to go there and talk about what you plan to do if admitted.

Best of luck in the admissions process! Feel free to message me if you have any questions!

What about Bryn Mawr? A minimum of how much is required for SAT?

Here's the info about Bryn Mawr:

    https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-university-search/bryn-mawr-college

I added up the average of the SAT scores from each section and got about 1970 total. That's not a minimum but just an idea of what the "norm" is.
