I am a vocal performance major, can I audition for shows?

Yeah, I'm a vocal performance major, which is seperated completely from the Theater, Musical Theater and Dance department of the school. Am I still allowed to participate in the theater's seasonal shows? Sometimes schools let people audition regardless of their majors, I have heard nothing like this from WSU. Theater and dance are my true passions, so I really want to be involved, and hopefully next year I can audition for and major in muscal theater, my singing just needs more fine tuning for now. Thanks!! :)
