Self Study AP Statistics?

Hey guys, I was wondering.. Have any of you attempted to self study stat. and get a decent score? (4/ preferably a 5?)
I heard stats is not a hard math course compared to calculus. Would a test prep book, and/or a textbook be enough to self study this course? Thanks for your input.
