Free parking around UCLA

Does anyone know of any parking lots around UCLA, other than UCLA parking lots? I missed the deadline for the parking permit because I wasn't sure I buying a car. However, I did buy one and I'd like to drive to school rather than take the bus. I know my appeal will be rejected, so is there anything near UCLA, maybe not so close to Whilshire or else it will be pointless driving.

Don't be so sure your appeal will be rejected. I've been able to get parking passes like a week before school starts. You must live sufficiently far away though (and there's like lottery which makes it more or less likely whether you'll get it or not.) Also, it'll be in Lot 7, which isn't close to north campus, and isn't close to south campus. But parking is parking.

You can also park north of Veteran and Gayley. However, you'll have to walk (at least) a mile to campus, and you need to move your car by 3pm or you'll get a ticket.

If you can afford it, you can also pay for a monthly lot in Westwood. Those are like $100/mo though.
