What are my chances? Please reply fast. Which are d other colleges that i can consider?

specially rate me for U of I (my dream college)

Considering that you like computer engineering, your stats show interest. You’re strong in math, which is definitely a plus. However, universities are holistic, and some things will bite. First, you’re applying to mostly public universities, and OOS/international will hurt at a bunch of them. Your ability to pay full tuition will matter a lot. I’m assuming the 91% figure is your average grade. That’d not quite enough info, since for all we know, it could be classes that are equivalent to Harvard graduate courses, or it could be mostly non-academic. Please tell us whether you took tough courses wherever possible.
Your math SAT and subject tests are good, but reading and writing SATs will bite. It’s less of a problem at UIUC, but it’ll still hurt. If possible, retake the SAT. There’s something called eprep that I used for the reading, and (I kid you not) three hours of studying the day before brought me from 640-750. They have videos explaining the answers. It may or may not help, but at least do the free ones to get an idea, and to get some stuff out of the way.
High class rank is helpful.
ECs definitely help. If you have any leadership roles, at all, or recognition, do mention it.
Finally, make sure to have a kickass essay and recs.

Summary (since that was kind of long):
Retake the SAT if your can, making sure to work hard on the reading and writing.
Make sure essays are masterful, and that you get awesome recs.
Your chances are hard to say, since we don’t know how hard your classes were, but it seems like:
UIUC is accessible, but real tough.
Purdue shouldn’t be a problem, though again, make sure the essay is good
UCB and UCLA (sorry to say this but it’s true) will be crapshoots
Georgiatech will be real tough, worse than UIUC, but not as bad as UC
UVA is gonna be bad, UC range
UCSB is a match, since your stats are decently high, by their standards but OOS will make things a bit tough
UCI is easy

You should consider private schools. Since you’re international, public and private schools will make no difference for money, and your chances might go up. As for which ones, it seems to be a matter of fit. Just don’t dismiss them.

Could you consider doing mine as well? Thanks

Thank you so much daminark
I didnt get that “we don’t know how hard your classes were” part (in the summary 3rd line).
I believe that I will get my essays and recs done quite good. I dont have time to take the SAT since d deadline for EA is in 2 dys. I think i will manage to pay the tuition fees and all.

and could you please specify a few private colleges as u suggested above considering my specs.

this was of real help. thank u once again.

and really sorry i have no idea abt ur chances. However,ur sat score seems quite high and there are a lot of good ecs u mentioned there

the 91% mentioned is the average of the marks in all academics subjects like maths, science, english, computer science and physical education.
these were indian standard exams. difficulty level a bit higher than that of the SAT Subject tests

Ah, I understand. If this 91% is the exams, tell me about your normal grades, the ones you get throughout the year on report cards. Keep in mind as well that colleges put less value to PE than to math or English.
As for what I said about difficulty, it’s that in american schools, there are honors classes, AP classes (college level), and IB classes. They are harder than the standard course offerings. Colleges SERIOUSLY care about whether or not you challenged yourself by taking hard classes. I don’t know which classes you took exactly, and it does matter, so that’s why I said it’ll be tough to gauge you without knowing what you took. If you took a lot of advanced classes, especially in math and computer science, you’re in good shape. If you just took a few and most of your classes were non-academic (underwater basket weaving, stuff like that), then chances will take a dive.

Hope I’ve helped

Give me some extra info based on the last post, and tell me what you like, aside from academics. Do you like small classes where you get to know your professor, or large ones where you can blend in to the crowd? Urban or rural? Research focused or teaching focused? That kind of thing. My answer for other schools will depend on that.

I would prefer small classes. Reseach focused.

rate me further on Univ Massachutsetts Amherst, Boston Univ and Univ of texas at austin

I wont be applying for financial aid

helloooo???

Can you afford OOS rates? Take all of the UC’s off of your list if you can’t afford $55K per year.

yup I can afford that
just tell me if i will get accepted in those colleges or not
thank you

Not at Berkeley nor LA. Your scores are too low.

what about the others?

If you want small classes, the UCs or UT aren’t good choices. The classes are very large. You can to get into the honors college at universities where it’s offered, but I’m not sure you’d qualify with your stats.
Same thing at UIUC or Purdue etc…
UIUC CSE, UVA, and GTech are all reaches due to how selective they are, but they’re also matches for your stats since you’re full pay.
UCB and UCLA probably aren’t going to happen but you can try - why not apply to Cal Poly SLO or SDSU Engineering in addition to UCI and UCSB?

ok
