<p>Lvillegrad - I’ve thought a lot about the careful and interesting matriculation stats you and your son prepared. I’ve also watched you regularly post disclaimers stating that “there are many other relevant criteria when selecting a school.” Unfortunately, we Americans are obsessed with “Best Of” designations and stats are more important to the typical CC Prep Schoolers and their parents than unquantifiable differences. </p>
<p>It would be an interesting study to examine the decision process of 20 families whose children were academically advanced and emotionally secure, but who knew nothing about boarding schools, make decisions based only on interviews, visits, revisits, talking to alumni etc. I wonder if their choices would reflect the spread of your Best Of list. Perhaps, but perhaps not.</p>
