<p>That’s not quite true. International interview reports are due before now. Late interviews are very rare, although we may interview into January as international EC’s, with prior arrangement, I cannot recall ever going into February. That being said, sometimes, after the application has been read, but before committee, MIT will ask us specifically to interview a waived student in order to answer a question that came up during the reading. For example, the admissions office might need to know whether the the student’s English is good enough to cope with MIT. When such cases do come up, we are rarely told what question MIT is trying to resolve in the application, merely that they think that the interview can help them reach an appropriate decision in this specific case.</p>
