Reflection
- Strengths: I’m pretty sure my recommendations got me in, there were “best student in career” comments in both of them and my supplemental from the MITES program also said he had never seen a student progress so fast. I also think my essay gave them context as to how to consider my application. Coming from a severely underprivileged home could only help as well.
- Weaknesses: I didn’t have many activities and extracurricular, but I guess my circumstance made up for that.
- Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Relatively strong academic background and really showing my passion for mathematics and computer science through my extra self-study and through my recommendations.
General Comments:
Ultimately I kinda regret not applying to Princeton EA since it became my first choice after a visit and I might’ve actually gotten in but oh well, definitely looking forward to attending uChicago (meet 100% of demonstrated need which for me is like full tuition…). Top school admissions is definitely like a lottery since I know others more qualified than me who got wailisted/rejected from uchicago and the like.
