<p>I feel the absolute same way: my essays were what got me accepted. I was in the same boat as you were: 1820 SAT, 26 ACT, 4.0 UW GPA, 4.31 UC GPA, and an out-of-state applicant (not really much of a hook nowadays, but I am a first generation college student).
