Reflection
Strengths: Academics. Academics academics academics. I’ve taken one of the hardest courseloads at my school to date and had to fight for it - the only person to do anything this hard in previous years didn’t apply to Wellesley. Validated my grades in these courses through good AP scores. Also good SAT I/II scores
Weaknesses: Lack of conventional leadership (club/class office), lack of EC variety, lack of national/international achievement in violin
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: See strengths
What would you have done differently?: A lot…gone to another high school, for starters
Where else did you apply? Case Western, Cornell, Harvard, Harvey Mudd, Johns Hopkins, Princeton (deferred SCEA), Rice, Stanford, UT Austin (accepted to engineering + Plan II honors), Yale
**Other Factors: ** I didn’t disclose my personal stuff, so that was a non-issue
General Comments & Advice: If academics is your strong point rather than ECs, then you really do have a chance. Go for it. I was expecting a possible because I’m the epitome of an Asian STEM nerd without the Siemens/Intel/USXXO to go with it, but here I am.
