National Merit Cutoff Predictions Class of 2017

Just a reminder that if your kid is in range for NM and is taking any more tests this Saturday or on the June date, it’s not too early to send a free score report to NMS. If your child already has a good SAT score and is taking subject tests, for example, you can go ahead and send those past SAT scores for free.

NMS doesn’t care about the subject test scores but you get to send any or all past SAT scores for free. Last year, the qualifying SAT score was 1960 and there is some “talk” that it might change this year. No one yet knows what that will be but it doesn’t hurt to send the best score while it’s free. From what I’ve read here, NMS doesn’t super score, just one SAT sitting is required to reach the qualifying score.

When you log onto your account and click send free score reports next to the current test date, it takes you to a window to search and simply typing National Merit pulls up the right account. You can uncheck and check any previous tests but the current test must be sent in order for the sending to be free.

Crossing fingers for everyone who is hoping to qualify for NMSF!

Just curious, were any of your kids were told by their schools that they made commended? I know the school gets the letter and they are supposed to check it for spelling errors, etc. but dd’s school never said a word to her or any other kids. If not for CC, we wouldn’t even know she qualified for commended.
