Recommendations (rating 1-10, details): we definitely signed a form that said we wouldn’t have access to our recs so IDK how y’all are rating these but both of mine were by teachers with their doctorates (one english, one science) and I was super close to both of them and did really well in their class (i often led class discussions)
Teacher Rec #1: we definitely signed a form that said we wouldn’t have access to our recs so IDK how y’all are rating these but both of mine were by teachers with doctorates (one english, one science) and I was super close to both of them and did really well in their class (i often led class discussions)
Teacher Rec #2: ^^^^^^
Counselor Rec: Hopefully good!! I have a rly good connection with my current college counselor, but he has only been around since august…the original college counselor quit at the end of last year and threw everyone into a mess.

Interview: good interview!! my guy was a little spazzy and kept asking me about my school’s brother school for some reason and kept telling me how he got to brown and realized he was actually a conservative (idk how that’s even possible) but I’m a little afraid that he might’ve written me out as a conservative bc I didn’t make a big point in stressing my political beliefs (I didn’t want to get into a fight with this man)

Reflection:
Strengths: my essays and my extra curriculars were definitely my strengths. My transcript shows me taking some of the most rigorous classes my school offers and it also shows a clear story of my fascination in science and art. Apparently all of this wasn’t enough to outweigh the next item of concern…
Weaknesses: my gpa. I know, but I was hopeful that everything else on my application and the known rigor of my school would help.
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: my gpa. that’s literally all it comes down to. I work really hard in school and I know I’m really smart but I’ve had to fight it out with ADD and a body that builds tolerance to medication really quickly throughout high school so it’s rly had a strain on my grades and there was no way for me to explain that to Brown because my college counselor didn’t want to risk them reading that I had ADD and automatically assuming I wouldn’t be able to keep up because I know it’s not true.
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: Nowhere yet. I’m doing ED II to Vassar.
General Comments:
Brown was my dream college…the RISD|Brown dual degree program was my pipe dream…so yeah, I’m not happy I was denied. I know I would’ve thrived at Brown and I know I’m going places in life, so Brown will just have to read my research papers later. I wish there was some way for colleges to watch us at every moment throughout high school because if that was the case I think I would’ve been accepted…or at least deferred.
