I'm trying to find online scholarships and my counselor told me to subscribe to fastweb. It's been sending me things almost every other day, and many of them seem kind of sketchy. Are all of these scholarships legitimate? How hard is it to get them? Thanks.

FastWeb is a recommended scholarship search site by the Department of Education. FatWeb makes every attempt to ensure that all scholarship offerings are legitimate. That doesn't mean one or two might slip through the cracks, but I haven't heard of anyone being jipped. Also, I haven't heard of anyone stating that they had to pay anything to apply for the scholarships listed by FastWeb...so, worst case scenario, should you happen to stumble on a bad one....you are only out a little time. FWIW, FastWeb recommends one never pay a fee to apply for a college scholarship....and if one listed on their site requires a fee, you can report it to FastWeb so they can have it removed.
