Zenni glasses update

Just letting you all know…I ordered my Zenni glasses on Feb 14, and they arrived today…and the are really great. Fit is amazing considering I had no idea what i was doing!

$88.

I have two other pairs of glasses with the same RX, and these work just as well as the others. Honestly…there is variation between the other $450 each pairs too.

I would do this again!

Glad it worked out! (And thanks for the update.)

Single vision, line bifocal, or progressive bifocal? Any other special features?

Progressive, special lenses to reduce computer glare.

It’s really liberating, isn’t it, knowing that you don’t have to pay huge amounts of money for glasses?

I’ve bought my glasses from Zenni for years and they’re great. Unfortunately, my D hasn’t had the same success. One pair she said gave her a headache, another scratched easily. Something else was wrong with a third pair. So it’s back to the expensive one for her.

Then there are those of us who love Costco and other places where we can get in person assistance as desired for lower prices than many opticians.

At the price Zenni is offering I think one could afford a couple of less than perfect results. I broke my favorite glasses over the weekend and was due to get my eyes checked out again anyway. I’m moving to dh’s optometrist because mine was getting too old. He doesn’t take credit cards and his (also way past retirement age) secretary didn’t think we’d paid for months on end even though we sent her copies of the cancelled check.

I just ordered prescription sunglasses and non prescription sunglasses from Zenni…they haven’t arrived yet, but I’ll let you know what I think! Glad they aren’t so expensive!

DH ordered his first pair of glasses through an optomatrist and kept complaining that they weren’t right and it turns out they were NOT made right. I just received my first pairs from Zenni and they’re great. Progressive lenses in one pair and an identical pair just for driving. I ordered the clip on sun glasses for both and could not be happier. The one area that I struggled with was that the picture I uploaded to “try on” frames made the frames much bigger than they are in real life and they’re crooked on the screen too. But I stayed with a similar style that I always get so they look as good as they ever do

No joke. I have one pair from Costco and for the price of that one pair I got two spares from Zenni that still didn’t add up to the Costco’s single pair amount. And although I’m a huge Costco fan, their service at the eyewear department wasn’t fantastic; the Costco glasses are the only ones I’ve had any trouble with - broke on one side of the bridge less than two weeks after purchase.

My first pair of prescription sunglasses (30+ years ago) from the eye doctorjust did not seem right. I went back to complain and was told “it takes a while to get used to a new prescription”. When I went back a second time, it turned out that my prescriptions had been swapped left/right. It can happen anywhere, even if you pay top dollar.

My current eye doctor is pricey. But at least they are very accommodating. When I complained about wrap-around sunglasses fogging up in cold weather (yes - in CO we need sunglasses in the winter) … they gave me full credit for another style.

4 more pairs of Zennis arrived last week and I spent a total of $35.60 including customized engraving on each pair. I wear a small prescription over contacts for driving, going to the movies, etc. At this price I can keep a pair in every car and purse. I had the word “distance” engraved on each pair so I won’t get them mixed up with readers tucked around the house.

Dh wears progressives and we’ve always paid $$$ at the optometrist’s office for his glasses as it never occurred to me we could get them online. I order mine online (zenni, coastal and I think one other) but I have close up and distance so they’re very straight forward. Big fan, easy, inexpensive. So, this year, we’re going to try Dh’s as well and see if we can save some money. I really appreciate this thread!

I have progressives. Mine work just fine…actually the $88 Zenni ones seem better than the $450 optician ones.

I started with Zenni several years ago. I Wanted a pair of rimless glasses. At the eye doctor they were more than $500. At Zenni, about $38.

I need a pair of prescription wraparound sunglasses for cycling, with a progressive lens. I was hoping that Zenni might have something, because the ones I buy from the optometrist are ridiculously expensive. I couldn’t find Zenni offering anything. Is there another online retailer that I should look to?

Got my prescription sunglasses and non prescription sunglasses from them and they’re great! Now I just got them, so can’t say anything about them long term. But so far so good! And you can’t beat the price! And my prescription sunglasses are perfect, even better then my regular non-zenni glasses!

One thing I don’t like about my new Zenni glasses are the optional “sunglass” attachement. Do not bother with them - cheapy plasticy things that slide around.

I need prescription progressive sunglasses that are wraparound, to keep dust and grit out of my eyes when I’m cycling. Regular sunglasses aren’t adequate to the task. Unfortunately the Zenni offerings:

don’t accept progressive lenses.
