Hey guys!! I'm hoping to get the finalist notice for the ab duke scholars program. They usually come back March 4-6th..

Did anyone else send your name in on their website for them to make sure to consider your app for this scholarship?

I did! Are you waiting on the Robertson, also? I'm anxiously awaiting news on that one. :(

I actually forgot to apply to Robertson hahaha... Oh well...

I have a good friend who is an AB scholar right now and she is absolutely in love with it!!

Does anyone know the process if one is chosen as a finalist? Like odds of getting the scholarship etc.?

You're notified via mail and email. You then have to submit a supplemental application and writing sample that is reviewed by the committee. You come out to Duke for a 4 day trip at the end of March and are introduced to the university and the AB community. During that weekend you have a short interview with Duke faculty on the scholarship committee. They let you know a week after that whether you get it or not.
Last year, I believe they notified around ~40-50 who interviewed and then accepted ~20. 15 accepted.

Wow... that's a very involved application. Thanks so much for all the info! Just a little bit more than a week until notifications come out!

@xkcdqc: Are you an AB scholar at the moment?

Crossing my fingers for this...although I know it's a long shot trying to get it. Good luck to everyone.

Has anyone applying for AB Scholars received a likely letter?
I feel like if you've received a likely letter it could be a sign that you are a candidate for one of the scholarships...

Likely letters often target specific underrepresented groups, not necessarily the ones qualified for a certain scholarship. It is a good sign, but I am sure that many of the scholarship finalists do not receive likely letters and many of the likely letter recipients are not scholarship finalist. About a week to go now...

Has anyone heard that they are semifinalists for the AB Duke?

I applied for the Robertson but I was rejected, so I'm hoping for Karsh, USP or AB now :( I don't think I have a strong chance though

Last year decisions came out on the 4th, the year before on the 5th.. And the year before that on the 6th.. They are consistently released the first Friday of March.. For us the 2nd.. So my best guess is they will come out either this Friday (2nd) or next Friday (9th)

Is there a separate app for the AB Duke Scholarship? And which other merit scholarships through Duke have a separate application?
    Thanks!

How many AB scholarships are given out per year?

Fifteen scholars per year are selected.
