Columbia University MS in Strategic Communication

Does anyone have any experience applying to or attending this program directly from undergrad?

I assume you saw this below? Like top MBA programs, work experience may be an unwritten requirement. Students without work experience can’t add value to real world conversations.

I hope someone can directly answer you.

“For the full-time program option, most candidates have at least 1–2 years of professional experience in a communications role or are career switchers. Successful candidates with less than two years of full-time professional experience have strong internship experience with multiple relevant internships.”

Thank you, the description says 0-8 years of work post grad, which is confusing as that is a large range. Have you had personal experience with the program?

No but I imagine it’s similar to an MBA - wanting experience. Otherwise the thought is you add little or even no value to group discussions and exercises.

I wish you luck.

Ps - you might ask the school if there’s a student ambassador or recent grad you can speak with or even find someone on LinkedIn and reach out. Not sure if you’ll find someone here.

Good luck
