S24 applying EA to Emerson for Bachelor’s of Creative Enterprise. 4.07 weighted. No test scores. ECs include shadowing major architecture firm, mentorship with NYC fashion designer, and creating his own line of re-purposed clothing for underprivileged teens.

C24 applied EA for Theatre and Performance. 4.15 weighted, 36 ACT, didn’t take the SAT. ECs are mostly theatre and chorus related.
I’m applying as a Communications Disorders Major. Went test optional/no test scores. 4.7 weighted GPA. ECs relating to leadership (Women empowerment, school ambassador, key club). I really hope to get in but I’m very nervous because my ECs aren’t really related to my major of choice…
Were there always two decision dates for ED/EA (ED in December, EA in January), or did that change recently? I could have sworn EA was mid-December, but the admissions page says January and I’m left wondering how I made that mistake.

It was originally posted for Dec. 15th. We have it on our calendar and spreadsheet. They changed it recently. You didn’t make a mistake. We’ve been waiting on this one–counting the days. Waiting another month is going to be very difficult. We were hoping to be settled by Christmas.

Oh geez. Okay. We really thought it was today. Been stalking the portal all day.
Yeah, we were too. My son finally connected with admissions via live chat and that’s what they told him.

Is that for Early Decision or Early Action or both?
I think ED, which says “Mid-December” release on their webiste. EA was updated to “Mid-January” at some point. Anyone have any new insight into when decisions will be coming out?

I used that live chat this morning and they gave me a canned response saying “ED decisions would be released from mid-Dec to early Jan”! and to keep checking the portal for updates. This is crazy since ED2 applications are due by early Jan. Is there something more going on?
Oh that is a frustrating update. I wonder what the hold up is.
Whoa! That is wild. What on earth? I wonder if some programs are getting a ton of applicants and need to take more time, so they’re not releasing on just one day.
Can applicants also apply as undecided? My kid did not specify a major. She is not applying to a program that required additional application supplements (like the comedic arts). She was hoping to go and decide on a major after being there. I keep seeing everyone post specific majors.
