We do not require a prescreen. When you submit your applicant which ask you to indicate the location where you would like to audition and interview or if you would like to complete it virtual and then we schedule you for that live audition. You can read more about the audition and interview process here: Audition and Interview
Merit Based scholarships are based off of all components of the application. The audition, the interivew, academic transcripts, and optional supplemental materials will all affect a scholarship offer you can read all about merit-scholarships here: https://www.berklee.edu/scholarshipshttps://www.berklee.edu/scholarships
My daughter is applying and interested in the songwriting major. How many students are in that major? How many typically apply / how many are accepted?
Great question. One of the most important aspects in your Zoom settings. Set up Zoom meetings with friends and family members ahead of your audition to run through your settings and set up. I would simplify your set up as much as possible. Single mic, straight forward interface that you can easily adjust if necessary if something isn’t working as planned. Definitely use a computer and make sure you have a strong wifi connection
So all applicants entering Berklee undeclared, which means there isn’t an amount of applicants that we accept for their intended major. There were about 430 students declared in the Songwriting major this past year.
When preparing to apply to Berklee, regardless of intended major it is important to focus on what the application process is comprised of which can be found here: How to Apply
