4.0 gpa unweighted, Iā€™m applying test optional! My main ECs involve being a nationally ranked athlete (Iā€™m being recruited) and the lead bassoonist in my schoolā€™s wind ensemble. Iā€™m super interested in economics and music and will probably major in Econ and minor in music.

Their music department seems great, I havenā€™t talked to any faculty but from what Iā€™ve researched itā€™s a great program. They offer free lessons on all instruments for school credit and have both non-audition and audition-only ensembles.

Has anyone elseā€™s portal switched to ā€˜Decidedā€™ but does not have access to the actual decision? Switched to ā€˜Decidedā€™ about an hour ago.

For RD, ā€œdecidedā€ happened the day before decisions were released

Where do you see it says Decided for Pomona ED? I donā€™t see it in the Applicant Portal.

From what I recall last March, it was right at the top where the status previously said ā€œUnder Review.ā€

I also remember that it didnā€™t change for everyone at the same time. My D23 had it change later than some other people did - not sure if there was any correlation to admission or not. D23 was admitted, but Pomona may just be doing alphabetical batches or geographic batches or any number of other sequences.

Thanks for the info! Now there is nothing at the top, where it used to say ā€œApplication Under Reviewā€.

Yep, DD went from Under Review to Decided. Now the whole bar is just gone. Almost funnyā€¦

I think the rumor may be true. If you were not from a boarding/private school or IB, chance of you getting accepted to Pomona is near nil. In the past 20 years of my hs history (punlic school in CA), no one had ever got accepted by Pomona. I didnā€™t believe it, but now I believed itā€™s true

Well, son got rejected. Top private school (top 20 in the nation by niche); perfect GPA and ACT; lots of ECs, although nothing top.
Pomona seems to be in line with Ivy now.
