Short Passage Strategies?

For some reason, I always feel very anxious about short passages and whenever I miss questions it’s almost ALWAYS on this subsection of the Critical Reading. If it weren’t for these I would be getting an 790 or 800 consistently.

Today in my AP English class we did a practice critical reading section and I got all the sentence completions right and all of the other passage based reading questions, but I got 3 out of the 4 short passage questions wrong.

It feels incredibly awkward because it’s supposedly the “easiest” subsection, yet for me it’s anything but that. The longer the passage, the better I do (it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever).

Any useful tips?

1) Calm down.
2) Some people aren’t good at certain sections of tests. They aren’t good at certain subjects. It’s not your fault.
3) Find a prep that works for you. Don’t just use what people who got 2200s did because you figure it must get you a 2200. Do what helps you.
4) Please, don’t be stuck up with the “I could get an 800 if not for my problem.”
